EMILY'S STORY

I’m a mom of three.  Besides my kids, family, and close friends my favorite thing in life is exercise!  I am a personal trainer; and I teach a variety of classes in the community (boot camp/HIIT, yoga, and yoga sculpt classes).

Fitness has been a fundamental part of my life since adolescence.  I love sharing my passion for fitness with others!

I began teaching classes in high school.  In college I partnered with my health education professor to film a live workout show that aired on public access television.

Over the years my passion for fitness has grown and expanded.  I have completed numerous full and half marathons, participated in many other races, including a couple team relay races (Hood to Coast and Smokey Mountain Relays).  In 2014 I completed yoga teacher training and in 2015 I became certified in m’bala (a hybrid workout involving yoga with weights and cardio; and probably one of the hardest classes around).

In 2012 I had twin girls and decided to stay home with my 3 kids instead of going back to my full time job.  I worked as a stay at home mom, teaching fitness classes on the side, until 2016 when life circumstances forced me to return to the office. I was still teaching a few classes on the side and I was growing increasingly frustrated and bored with my 8-5 job.  I also realized that teaching and training --- helping people work hard and challenge themselves to get more fit is one of the most fulfilling things in my life.

I resigned from my office job to pursue fitness full-time. For the first time in my 15ish years as a working professional I feel like I’m doing what I was born to do.  Every minute I spend training a client or teaching a class I feel so grateful that I didn’t waste another minute of my time putting energy into an inauthentic life.
